THRIVING UP INITIATIVE AT TOPO, A RURAL COMMUNITY IN BADAGRY, LAGOS

Post-natal care is vital to newborn survival, health, well-being and development. In Africa each year, 1.16million babies die in the first four weeks of life after birth; and another 3.3million die before they reach their fifth birthday, making newborn deaths account for 25% of under-five deaths.

Undaunted in out resolve to ending preventable newborn deaths, we were at General Hospital, Topo, Badagry training about 30 expectant mothers and answering their many questions, to help them become better skilled and equipped in providing adequate and efficient postnatal care.

At, Thriving Up Initiative, we are passionately driven and committed to fighting neonatal mortality by empowering mothers with vital information to  strengthen and improve postnatal care thereby enabling them ensure the health, well-being and survival of their babies-
